A magical Invite
Hey sweet friends. It’s Autumn and I’m so excited to share my first post for Sweet Stamp Shop with you. In my house it’s not fall until it’s Hocus Pocus time. We have an annual hocus pocus party where we watch the movie and eat yummy treats to kick off the season. Sweet stamp shops squad ghouls stamp set is not only perfect for this years invites but i’m pretty sure this will top all past and future invites for our annual party.
I started off by printing out the Sanderson sister spell because the look I was going for would have been too difficult to stamp out. After printing it out on cardstock I used some distressed ink in vintage photo, crushed olive, and wilted violet in distressed oxide to give the background an old look. Using tombows mono adhesive I attached the background to my card.
Next I stamped my witch image on x-press it paper using memento ink in black tuxedo which is the ink of choice when working with copics. I colored the image using a variety of copic markers and even tried my hand at adding to the image by drawing plaid on Mary’s skirt. Nicole does an amazing job of inspiring us all during her lives but I wanted to see how doable they really are. I tried out her tutorial for a cobblestone background and when she says we are capable of doing this ourselves she is absolutely right. I also stamped the “I put a spell on you” sentiment and used distressed oxide in wilted violet to add a pop of color. Wanting to add a little magic to my card I decided to cut out the top of the cauldron and add a glowing element to bring it to life. I did this by using a photo sleeve, fuse tool and glow in the dark elmers glue. It took a few tries to get the right size and proper seal but in the end I had a glow in the dark pocket that I put behind the hole I cut out of the cauldron.
Finally I attached the image and sentiment onto the background using foam squares to give it some dimension and my Hocus Pocus invite is now complete. Thank you for stopping by and joining in on some magical card making.
Create a fun Dia De Los Muertos card
Hello Sweets! It’s Autumn with a fun card inspired by the vibrant colors of the hispanic culture using the new Dia De Los Muertos stamp set. This is a perfect stamp set for the upcoming holiday or it can be used for an anniversary or wedding invite. The first thing I thought while creating this card was “Till Death Do Us Part”.
First I created my background by stamping the flower image in various directions using Versafine ink pad in onyx black and heat embossing the stamped images with clear embossing powder. After stamping all of the images I went in with tombows dual brush markers in bright palette and randomly colored flower petals to give it a stained glass look.
Next I stamped my skeleton images on x-press it paper using memento ink in tuxedo black and heat embossing with clear powder. Wanting to keep my skeletons primarily white with some bright accents I colored them in grey tones using copic markers. Then used bright colored copies to add a pop of color.
I hope you enjoyed this fun, bright card as much as I enjoyed making it.
